Homey hotel with sensational breakfast and an ideal location near the city centre. Good-sized and well-organised rooms, magnificent view of the harbor. Comfy bed, exceptionally kind and amazingly nice staff.

will definitely go again next time
The Twin Room was cozy, with heating and soundproofing. Loved the tv, electric kettle, and private bathroom. Fresh towels and toiletries were great. Had a lovely view from the window. The hosts were super nice, even offered a ride to the pub. Can't wait to return!

I was honestly ready to leave a positive review, but the shower curtain was utterly inadequate, keeping the bathroom floor unsightly wet. I couldn't help but notice the lack of towel racks- baffling for a place trying to charm guests. A complimentary upgrade woudl ve been the least expected after all this, but of course, nothing like that was offered.

Good location about 3 ks from city centre. Easy to leave car and walk or go by taxi to city centre. Modern facilities in picturesque location overlooking Derry.
Breakfast room was stuffy.

Excellent attention to cleanliness .
Unfortunately, the ground floor rooms lacked adequate privacy due to the visibility from the parking area, made me uncomfortable. I struggled to understand the heating system and was too warm my first night as a result. Despite the beautiful views, I was disappointed by the lack of sufficient amenities for the pricing, especially considering I couldn't afford extras like the sauna and hot tub.

It was a fantastic place to say - waking up to the cows and lovely countryside sounds. We couldn't have asked for a better location which was central to everything we wanted to do. The staff were very welcoming and helpful and never intruded at all. We had a brilliant time and we would say there again.

Our stay was quite wonderful and we would definitely come back again. John and Margaret own and run a quiet and beautiful house in a great setting that is just outside town (Derry). It is close enough to drive in a just a few minutes, and they have great recommendations for nearby sites and restaurants. They can also recommend taxis for those not driving their own vehicle. The breakfast was outstanding and delicious, and plenty to cover breakfast and lunch for your day's travels :) Our room was comfortable and well appointed.
Nothing, everything was great!

The warm welcome from the hosts. The Double Room was spacious with beautiful windows that offered fine views of the surrounding countryside. The pleasant sitting area added to the homely feel. Breakfast options were customizable, allowing me to enjoy a hearty meal tailored to my liking. The payment process upon arrival felt a bit rushed, which detracted from the initial experience. There was also a minor issue with insufficient toilet paper in the bathroom on one occasion.

The Groarty is 'a Real Gem' - I had a large well appointed room with a great view and quality en-suite. A very friendly family run establishment - and I was made to feel part of the family during my stay. I was on business in the area and stayed for six nights and would consider the venue top notch for business of holiday accommodation. When back in the area I will definately book into the the Groarty.

Be prepared for noise from the outside, especially if you have your windows open. Conversations from nearby smoking areas can drift in. The vegetarian breakfast options left a lot to be desired, falling short of satisfying expectations. This could lead to confusion at check-in. Lastly, minor issues like inadequate privacy in ground floor rooms and difficulties with the heating setup can detract from your stay.
